Our quality assurance process

A core competency of smartKPIs.com is the process of identifying and documenting performance measures. We believe that the quality of this process is what makes smartKPIs.com database different from all similar websites and repositories of performance indicators.

To begin with, we have designed a taxonomy that we consider to be relevant from a performance management perspective, based on Functional Areas and Industries.

We are permanently updating the database with new performance measures either suggested by our visitors, or developed by our team. The process and the resources that stand behind the publication of every new performance measure are rigorous.

When suggesting a performance measure, registered users are invited to fill in the fields of the template to the best of their knowledge. Once the measure is submitted, our team begins working on assessing the information suggested by the visitor and completing the measure template with additional details, according to our measure documentation guidelines. These guidelines were designed as a set of rules and definitions aiming at imposing a common language and documentation style so that all measures in our database have common denominators and a sense of cohesion.

When the measure template is completed, up to two reviewers assess the documented content and approve it before being published.

If necessary, the smartKPIs.com team reserves the right to reject a suggested performance measure and also to remove one from the database.
