The Maryland Department of Budget and Management helps the Governor and the state agencies to provide sound fiscal management to the citizens of Maryland, by means of seven department agencies with attributions in budget collecting and expenses, procurement, statewide contracts etc. The department presents an Annual Performance Report to the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee, outlining the progress achieved in relation to its multiannual plan. The most recent report covers year 2009 and focuses on environment, economic growth, education and other key areas, as identified in the plan (see link below).
