3rd Global Drucker Forum 2011 – live

The 3rd Global Drucker Forum takes place in Vienna, Austria on 3-4 November 2011. In the tradition of previous years, three live video feeds of keynote addresses will be provided , via the internet (re-transmissions with an 8 hour delay will also be available).

1. The opening session on November 3 (9:00 to 11:15 AM CET) featuring Charles Handy on “Is There a Future for Capitalism?”. Charles is to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from Thinkers50 – see the link. Followed by a plenary session with keynote addresses from Mark R. Kramer and Adrian Wooldridge from The Economist on Shared Value

2. The first panel session on November 4 (9:00 – 10:15 AM CET) featuring Deepa Prahalad, Iqbal Z. Quadir, founder of Grameen Phones and Venkatesch Valluri, President Ingersoll Rand India on “Why the Bottom of the Pyramid Matters for Everyone”

3. The closing session on November 4 (16:00 to 16:30 PM CET) to hear the conclusions and key learnings from the forum delivered by Rick Wartzman, Executive Director of the Drucker Institute and the future perspective on the Drucker Society by Richard Straub, President Peter Drucker Society Europe

2010 Peter Drucker Challenge essay contest

Peter Drucker Society of Europe has launched the Continuity and Change – Balancing Innovation and Time-Tested Practices essay contest. The competition is open for participants under 35 and it “calls” for the young professionals with interest in anticipating the changes that are expected to shape our society in the years to come, as well as the opportunities that will emerge.

The prizes for the best essays consist in the opportunity to participate in the  Global Peter Drucker Forum 2010, held in Vienna, Austria. The complete details of the competition are available at: http://www.druckerchallenge.org/.

Without doubt one of the most innovative personalities of the past century, Peter Drucker has had a crucial contribution to the development of Management as a discipline – the Man Who Invented Management – as he was once named by the New York Times (Lewis ,1998).

He has left behind a valuable collection of books that set the foundations for a great number of management concepts and described a suite of upcoming changes in the society, as they have been anticipated with great accuracy by Drucker. Among his most important titles are the following:
